And while the Brezza might be an SUV, the Fronx is based on the Baleno and has SUV-esque styling. The Fronx is the second Maruti Suzuki product that’ll slot in the heavily populated sub-four-metre SUV space after the Brezza. The crossover SUV comes with a wheelbase of 2,520mm and offers a boot space of 308-litres. The Fronx is 3,995mm long, 1,765mm wide, and has a height of 1,550mm. While, Maruti claims a fuel efficiency of 21.79kmpl for 1.2-litre MT, 22.89kmpl for 1.2-litre AMT, 21.5kmpl for 1.0-litre MT and 20.1kmpl for 1.0-litre AT. The CNG Fronx has a fuel efficiency of 28.51km/kg. Its CNG powertrain makes use of the same 1.2-litre petrol engine (77.5PS/98.5Nm) from the Baleno CNG and is paired to a 5-speed manual transmission. On the other hand, the crossover is also offered with 1.2-litre Dualjet naturally aspirated petrol engine which makes 89PS and 113Nm, and can be had with either a five-speed manual or a five-speed AMT. It churns out 100PS and 148Nm, and comes mated to either a five-speed manual or a six-speed automatic transmission. With the Fronx, Suzuki’s 1-litre Boosterjet turbo-petrol engine has made a comeback, but this time it’s assisted by the Maruti’s mild-hybrid tech.
